The Annual Hambone Music Festival will again be held on the beautiful grounds of the History Center of Olmsted County in Rochester on Friday and Saturday, July 10 & 11. We’re celebrating our 6th year in Rochester!
Hambone Music Festival’s Board of Directors and it’s supporters would like to thank Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC), and the Rochester Arts Council for their ongoing arts grant support for this worthwhile festival.
Hambone Music Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. OUR MISSION: To provide an affordable entertainment event while educating the general public about the art form of blues and roots-related music by performance, enhancing appreciation and understanding, by interpreting and preserving blues/roots related music. Secondary purpose is to donate funds received, over and above operating costs to Rochester area youth music programs and local charities to be named.
(Currently partnered with VonWald Youth Group Home which has received new musical instruments for residents’ use from HMF, as well as mentorship and artists in residence opportunities from HMF board members and volunteers.)
2015 is our 6th year in Rochester, featuring more amazing local, regional, and national music! In addition to outstanding musical performances, we offer new and different educational workshops – return of the HARMONICA FOR ALL AGES Workshop; SONGWRITING TIPS & TRICKS; SLIDE GUITAR INSTRUCTION – all inside the History Center and FREE to all! NEW this year: MUSIC CRAFTS FOR KIDS WORKSHOPS, outside under a separate tent near the Artists Village. FREE to all kids with adult admission. Expanded Artists Village featuring your favorite local artists and crafters!
We are looking for reliable volunteers! “Perks” include free attendance at the festival with 4 hours of time spent volunteering at various locations, along with a free HMF volunteer t-shirt.
